These terms govern your use of the Golden Wattle iOS app ("Golden Wattle", "the app"), published by Aphelion Engineering Pty Ltd (ACN 697 870 812 · ABN 19 697 870 812), an Australian proprietary company based in Perth, Western Australia. In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" refer to Aphelion Engineering Pty Ltd. By downloading or using the app, you accept these terms.
1. What Golden Wattle is
Golden Wattle is a study aid that helps you prepare for the Australian citizenship test. It is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Australian Government or the Department of Home Affairs. The app's practice questions and explanations are based on the publicly available "Our Common Bond" resource book, which we reference descriptively only; that reference does not imply any affiliation with, or endorsement by, the publisher of that resource.
2. No guarantee of results
Golden Wattle is designed to help you prepare, but it does not guarantee that you will pass. The official citizenship test is conducted by the Department of Home Affairs, and its content, format, and requirements may differ from the app and may change over time. We maintain the app's content with reasonable care, but we do not warrant that it is complete, current, or free of errors.
3. Subscription terms
Golden Wattle may be offered with an auto-renewable subscription on the following terms:
- Price — A$2.99 per week. Where the App Store shows the price in a different local currency, the price displayed to you at the time of purchase applies.
- Free trial — a 7-day free trial is available to new subscribers.
- Renewal — the subscription renews automatically each week until you cancel. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase and again at the start of each renewal period.
- Cancellation — you can cancel at any time in your App Store account settings. Your access continues until the end of the current paid period. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before it renews.
- Purchases and refunds — these are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's terms.
4. Intellectual property
The Golden Wattle software, its design, and our original explanatory content are owned by Aphelion Engineering Pty Ltd. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own study. The "Our Common Bond" resource referenced in the app is a separate public resource and remains the property of its publisher.
5. Acceptable use
You may use Golden Wattle for lawful, personal study only. You must not reverse engineer, decompile, resell, sublicense, or otherwise redistribute the app or its content.
6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Golden Wattle is provided on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable mandatory consumer protection legislation.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia.
