If a privacy policy could be one sentence, it would be: your routines are yours, and they never leave your phone unless you choose to back them up through Apple's own iCloud device backup.
What Pour stores, and where
Everything below is stored locally on your device (and, for the items noted, in a shared app-group container so the widgets and Live Activity on your own device can read them). None of it is transmitted to us or anyone else.
| Data | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Routines and their steps (names, emoji, durations, optional schedule) | So the app can play your routines | On-device database |
| Session history ("you showed up" records) | The History screen | On-device database |
| A lightweight routine list | So your home-screen and lock-screen widgets can show your routines | On-device app-group storage |
| The currently playing session | So a routine survives the app closing and can resume | On-device app-group storage |
| Your settings (sound, chime pack, haptics, app icon, first-run flags) | To remember your preferences | On-device preferences |
You can delete any of this at any time by deleting routines, or remove all of it by deleting the app.
Device capabilities Pour uses
- Notifications (local only). If you allow them, Pour schedules local notifications on your device for step changes and for routines you schedule. These are created and delivered entirely on your device; no push server is involved and we never see them.
- Motion (not stored). Pour reads the device's tilt in real time so the liquid timer responds to how you hold your phone. This reading is used only for the on-screen animation in that moment and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
- Sound and haptics. Pour plays short chime sounds and gentle haptics. Audio plays in a "mix with others" mode that never interrupts your music or podcasts. Nothing is recorded — Pour has no microphone access.
Purchases
Pour offers an optional "Pour Pro" subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase. All payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. Pour never sees or stores your name, payment details, or billing information. The app only learns, from Apple's on-device receipt, whether you currently have an active entitlement — a simple yes/no — so it can unlock Pro features. Restoring purchases uses Apple's standard mechanism. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
What we do not do
- We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- We do not use cookies or any cross-app or cross-site tracking.
- We do not require or offer an account.
- We do not operate servers that store your information.
Children
Pour does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is a general productivity tool, not directed at children, and contains no data collection, advertising, or external links to user-generated content.
Your control
Because all data is local, you are always in full control:
- Delete a routine to remove it and its history association.
- Delete the app to remove all Pour data from your device.
- iCloud device backups (if you use them) are encrypted and managed by Apple under Apple's terms, not ours.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new effective date. Because Pour collects no data and has no way to contact you, material changes will also be reflected in an app update's release notes.
